The Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack gives you 41" long aluminum crossbars that make the most of every inch of roof space. The full-length design gives you more room for accessories that mount in the top channels or clamp around the bars. Whether it’s kayaks, cargo boxes, or ski racks, you can set them up side by side without running out of space. The aluminum build keeps things strong but lightweight, ready to handle up to 165 lbs while staying corrosion resistant for years of use.
Some roof racks whistle or hum on the highway, but this one is built to keep noise down. The aero-style crossbars cut through the wind while the rubberized Vortex strips in the top channels help reduce drag and sound. That means smoother airflow and less wind chatter when you’re cruising at speed. It’s a small detail that makes long trips more comfortable and keeps your focus on the road ahead.
Security matters when your gear’s up top. The Vortex crossbars include integrated plastic locks that help deter theft of channel-mount accessories, while lockable cover plates on the legs secure the rack itself to your roof rails. If you want extra peace of mind, you can upgrade to all-metal locks (RRVA-LEC4 – sold separately) for added protection. Whether you’re parked overnight or at a trailhead, your setup stays locked down and safe.
This system installs directly to raised rails for a clean and secure setup. Once it’s in place, you get a solid connection without tools or complicated adjustments each time you load up. The RX legs lock firmly onto the rails, creating a stable base that won’t shift under load or vibration. With this rack, you can trust that your gear rides steady from start to finish.

It is working very well. I have had others ask me about it, as well as sharing info myself and referring them to you. Im still loving it. Will use even more this summer. Three kayaks Ive loaded max. Also building materials not at the same time. And it looks so stylish, I leave it on year round. Also, people are jealous of the non slip grip. Thanks for following up.

I am still very satisfied after a year of using the Rhino-Rack. I have used it about 8 times transporting my kayak with no issues. The longest trip was about 45 miles, part of it was interstate driving at 75 mph. Stays tight on the roof with very slight wind noise.

Im still loving the Rhino Rack setup, including the Nautic 581 saddles. They bars were easy to remove for winter snow clearing, and to put back on in the Spring for my new kayak. The rack and straps all work great, and I recommend etrailer to anyone that asks where I got it.

Still rock solid after a year. Very happy with the Rack. My daughter has used it from time to time over the past year when something wont fit in her car, and shes had no problems with it at all.

Still working as advertised after a couple of years. The rubber channel s are beginning to get a little worn in spots… but I use the rack a lot. Rack and mounting hardware is still in great shape.
